I am a certified nutrition specialist. Need to know a few things...are you currently overweight (be REAL here - NOT Kate Moss!)? For good food - fresh fruits, veggies, 2-3 times a day, whole grain cereals or breads, rice (5-6 times a day) and protein (chicken, fish, pork, beans, etc) 2 times a day. What I suggest people do first is make a list of all the foods they like and then work with it from there. Diets are NOT to make people eat what they don't like! If someone tells you you have to eat broccoli and you hate it, it won't work! As for exercise, if you want speed, you need to work on legs, because those are the muscles that move you, but you need only do your muscle work 2 times a week. Muscles must rest in order to improve. You also need to do cardio (aerobic) activity 5-6 times a week. Having a healthy heart will help with your stamina. Let me know if you need anything else! Go score!

First for exercise you need to stick with sport specific ex. That is training for moves you will do in practice & in games.
This is cardio exercise ( this is distance running or long duration activity), increased foot speed through cutting work(using a foot lader, or even playing hacky sack), ball handeling ability(this is just through getting out and handling & kicking the ball)
Do cardio 5 times a week and sport specific activity at least 3 times a week.
Give it a try and keep us posted.
