Title: Hypoglycemia My cousin is moderately hypoglycemic and she believes that the Atkin's Diet, or one of the other low carbohydrate diets is the answer to her problem. I don't believe these diets are healthy. What is the downside to these types of diets, and is she on the right track by increasing her protein at the expense of carbs? I dont believe It is a sustainable healthy lifestyle diet. I'm no Doctor, but I think a better approach for treating of hypoglycemia would be to simply eat less refined natural foods that have a low glycemic index value. Low GI foods are less likely to trigger the mass insulin response that occurs when you eat refined processed foods like white bread. There is plenty of information about the GI (glycemic index) on the internet. Hope all goes well with your cousin. Rgds Mick.
