Title: How Does The "know How" Work? Attempting to lose extra 8 lbs or so. Tried low carbing and after the first day I woke up at 4a.m. with INTENSE carb cravings. I gave in of course. I understand how the Atkins diet works but can't figure out how separating the carbs from protein will help me lose wt. The Atkin's diet works and the Zone works and both offer a raised protein and fat intake, correct? Well they also both ask you to either cut the carbs in half on one or eliminate them on the other. However you slice it, their success is based solely on the separation factor. But the cravings you experience are still always for what? Carbs? It's a signal you need them. Youre running low. All I advise is to not over indulge and make them a more starchy and fibrous carb when you do eat them. That is simply put, how the digestive system digests food. It's not a wack-o's idea. In fact famed author from the 50's Herbert Shelton wrote on the same topics as did Dr Bernard Jensen who has literally saved the lives of 100,000's of people with his system.
