Title: What Do I Do? Dear Don, I am currently on a weight loss program that basically cuts fat out of your diet and keeps your metabolism burning quickly, its the North American slim Down 99 program. I have been on it for 30 days now and dropped from 318 to 288 pounds. I am 6'4" with a extra large build and would like to get tone and cut up. I have a workout system at home, but someone told me to lose all the fat from my body first and then start to workout to muscle up. I currently walk very briskly at least 3 miles a night. I wanted to start working out for an hour 3 days a week and walk the other 3 nights and reserve sundays as a relax day. Is it ok to start working out now, do I really have to wait, I figured my desired weight goal would be between 260 and 270. I also read about a supplement called EAS is this product OK for what I want to do. I believe the product that is used is creatine. Does creatine cause fat loss and muscle gain? I basically want to know when I can start working out to tone my physique. Thanks. Bill Scheets Name: Bill Scheets Date: May. 3rd, 1999 Title: Re: What Do I Do? that is great!!! What kind of program is this??? Can anyone use it?? Name: pamela Date: May. 5th, 1999 Title: Re: What Do I Do? Bill and Pam, The Great North American Slim down is cool because of all the recipes and such but it's not gonna succeed forever. The final picture wont be what you like. Try eating good, but keep proteins and starches completely separate from each other at different meals and add a hair of fat to the protein meals to stimulate fat burning. Never fails. As far as weight training, you will build muscle so if the weight doesnt drop on the scale as fast, thats why. You will gain a pound of muscle, lose a pound of fat and balance out but once you build enough, you will drop fat faster than before. So go to it man! d Name: Don Lemmon Date: May. 8th, 1999 Title: Re: What Do I Do? whoever told you to wait is dead wrong. if you don't do some weight lifting, and you continue to lose weight, you will be losing what lean muscle mass you have. pump that iron! don is right, muscle weighs more than fat, but it is firmer. good luck. you've made great progress!
