Title: Weight Loss On Methformin What do you suggest for someone like me who is taking Methformin for cosmetic reasons, so I may experience low blood sugar symptoms, and who wants to lose weight on a higher protein diet? Will a hi-protein diet help with keeping my blood sugar levels up, and will lower blood sugar levels actually HELP me to lose fat? God didnt drop Adam and Eve off with a prescription and a donkey to eat. He said to eat all but the forbidden fruit of knowledge (which wasnt a real fruit, was an analogy). We decided to do what we have to ourselves and yet still neglect the basics. Eat clean, eat foods separate from one another that do not mix there fore digest in the gut simultaneously and start training with wieghts. You wont turn into SheRa the muscle woman in the amount of sessions you need to drop fat. Everything you eat is turned to sugar so the only way to low blood sugar is to starve. I am taking methformin for cosmetic reasons which have nothing to do with my weight problem. As Methformin is usually prescribed to diabetics as a treatment for high blood sugar (which I do not have), the unwanted side effect for me is that I can experience low blood sugar, dizziness, nausea, etc. However, I want to lose some weight, so I was asking if a high protein diet would help keep my blood sugar levels stable whilst I lose the unwanted fat. Also, when blood sugar levels drop, does the body use it's fat reserves to stabilize it? Name: Katy Date: Apr. 29th, 1999 Title: Re: But ..... I know why you are taking your drugs. I also still recommend eating correctly as low blood sugar and both high blood sugar are related to medical conditions. You need to regulate your blood sugar and that is done through food management not food restriction.
