Title: HOW MANY CALORIES DO I NEED?

Hi, I need a-round-about figure on how many calories I need to intake. As of today I am 158 lbs, and 5'6". My goal is to lose 30 lbs slowly. My main focus is on my health. I do aerobics 20 min 5/week, weights 30 min 3/week, and yoga 10 min 5/week. Right now I take in apx 1500 cal, but my body seems like it needs more. Any suggestions?

    you need atleast 2000 calories a day, try to eat smaller meals, but more frequently.

    To lose weight slowly and effectively, I recommend you consume 10-12 times your body weight in calories per day. For you, this will be 1580-1900 calories. Make sure you split this up into several small meals per day to keep your body nourished and give your metabolism a boost. Set your meals up so you're eating most of your carbs earlier in the day, so you don't have them in your system when you go to sleep at night. Your metabolism is fastest in the morning when you wake up and it slows down dramatically over the course of the day.

    Since you're also lifting weights, I recommend increasing your protein intake slightly as this will help your body maintain muscle mass to help skyrocket your metabolism.
