Title: Carbs And Protein Im 5'4 weight 130 lbs.I try to workout 3-4 times a week.1 hour of cardio (tredmill) and one hour of resistant training. how many grams of protien do i need daily to gain muscles? and how many grams of carbs do I need daily to keep up my energy and lose weight same time? Name: santacruzzz2001 Date: Nov. 8th, 2002 Title: Re: Carbs And Protein As far as protein goes, I have always heard you should try to consume 1 gram of protein per 1 pound of body weight. So for you, 130 grams. I weigh 210 and I had tried to consume that much protein, and it is just too much for me. I drink a protein shake every day after I work out, but getting near 200 grams is crazy. One other thing you may want to look into; I have heard that too much protein can be bad for your kidneys over an extended period of time. I would just be sure to drink plenty of water, and maybe once in a while drink some cranberry juice as a cleansing agent.
