Title: Fat Vs. Muscle I am a little upset because I feel as though some of my clothing has gotten more tight now that I ahve stepped up my working out and weight training. I really don't think I have gained fat but can muscle make your clothing more tight. I do cardio for 35 minutes in the morning before work andthen 35 min of cardio at night and about 30 minutes of weights at night. I do this routine 6 days a week. I eat a small breakfast of Fiber one and skim milk, 1/2 a cup of lowfat cottage cheese as a snake, a salad with cottage cheese for lunch, 1/2 a protien bar as an afternoon snack, dinner is a salad, two egg whites and some cottage cheese and then I work out. I can't believe I have gained fat but my cloths are tight and that is not what I want. Any suggestions on chnages of any sort (sorry about the lenght of the email)! Just be careful when lifting weights everyday that you are not overtraining the same muscles. Anyway, in terms of your diet, you are taking in way too much protein and not enough carbs & fat. Do you know roughly how many calories you consume in a day? The amount of protein you eat now would be fine but you have to add healthy fat to your diet (oils, nuts, etc.) If your diet is mainly protein and you continue to work out as much as you do, then you will definitely develop bigger muscles which is why your clothes are tighter on you. By the way, there's no possible way you are gaining fat. It's all muscle. Name: Kelly Date: Jul. 24th, 2002 Title: Re: Fat Vs. Muscle Thanks for your reply, it made me feel better about my workouts. I really don't know how many calories I consume, its probably about 1000. Wow, I just realized that is too low, especially for my workouts. I have to tell you thought, I'm nervous to up my calories because I don't want to gain weight. What would be a good balanced diet (higher protien than carbs)?
