Title: Couple Quick Questions First off, what is the normal amount of water one should consume daily? I know it can vary for different people, but I was told that one should drink TWO GALLONS of water a day and I just cannot drink that much. Is that true?? Isn't a gallon okay? Also, how do you calculate the amount of calories you shoud consume per day, as well and how many you should consume while trying to drop weight? Please help?? If you are trying to lose weight you should try to drink more, as much as you can. Just have 2 cups of water at every meal and 2 cups both mid-morning & mid-afternoon. For the amount of calories you should be taking: this depends if you work out regularly. First of all, you should know that 1 pound = 3500 calories. Therefore, if you want to lose 1 lb. per week, divide 3500 by 7 days (=500 calories). Therefore, just eat 500 fewer calories per day from what you normally eat. So if you normally take in 2000 calories/day, reduce it to 1500 calories/day. But you must be careful of what you eat too. Don't think that you can eat 1500 calories worth of starchy carbohydrates and you will still lose weight. It won't happen.
