There's nothing wrong with eating 3 meals a day. However, if you are trying to lose weight, it is better to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals a day because it keeps your metabolism high all day. Your bodyfat ratio depends on your energy balance, i.e. when your nutrition intake is higher than your expenditure, you will build up fat by filling up your fat cells. A negative energy balance (intake is lower than expenditure) will make you lose fat. Your metabolism cannot be kept high by taking several small meals during the day. That´s a myth.
