Title: Three Meals A Day Vs. Five Or Six Meals A Day

I have heard that eatting
three meals a day is good for
you, but I have also heard
that eating five or six small
meals a day is good for you.
If you know which is better
please let me know. And what
an example of a small meal is.

    6 small meals a day keeps your metabolism high. Just take the amount of calories you need in a day and divide by 6. That is how many calories you should have per meal.

    3 MEALS A DAY IS GREAT. tUNA AND SALAD AND SOME YOGURT ARE GOOD LUNCHES , EGGS AND MILK ARE GOOD IN THE MORN AND ANYTHING IS GOOD FOR DINNER, bUT ALSO TREAT YOURSELF.

    Depends what your goals are. There's nothing wrong with eating 3 meals a day. However, if you are trying to lose weight, it is better to eat 5 or 6 smaller meals a day because it keeps your metabolism high all day.

      Title: Doesn´t Matter

      Hello,

      it doesn´t matter whether you take three oder six meals a day. Your bodyfat ratio depends on your energy balance, i.e. when your nutrition intake is higher than your expenditure, you will build up fat by filling up your fat cells. A negative energy balance (intake is lower than expenditure) will make you lose fat. Your metabolism cannot be kept high by taking several small meals during the day. That´s a myth. Only physical activity (sports) and some drugs (Thyroxin, roids, Ephedrine...) may increase your metabolism rate.
