Title: EATING HABITS TO LOSE WEIGHT I started weight training along with cardios about three months ago. I have started to see great results, BUT I am REALLY confused and feeling really stressed about eating habits. I have switched to eating wholewheat/meal/brown products only.I don't know how much is too much carbs, if mixing carbs with protein and fat is really bad. I do mix them, but feel guilty when I do. I try not to have carbs after a certain hour, but I'm just real confused now. HELP! He has me eating 600 calories per meal, three meals a day, broken down like this... 30 grams of protein 82.5 grams of carbs 16.5 grams of fat NO CARBS after 9:00 PM I get one 200 Calorie snack anytime during the day. I suggest that you consult a personal trainer so that he or she can give you an accurate measurement for your body type and what your goals my be. This diet is no where near the proper intakes of ESSENTIAL nutrients needed to sustain normal function. This trainer was certified throught the Cooper Institute of Dallas, and has a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science. I was just talking from personal experience and what makes yo such an expert?? Then tell them the amounts of fats and proteins you are getting. Then tell them a personal trainer with a bs in Nutritional Sciences told you to eat this much. They will be alot more skeptical of this guys supposed qualifications than I am. Even Weight Watchers programs advise diets consisting of double the amount of calories you are currently intaking; most people think that these programs are even low in calories. Eatting 600 calories is absurd and is just plain unhealthy, ask any PROFESSIONAL. I am have studied for the NSCA CSCS test and have read numerous physiology books and studies and have been training for 6 years. I am 6'0 200 lbs with 10% bodyfat. I believe I know a thing or two about diet and training. Note: I am aware of *some* dieticans advising their clients to consume ultra low calorie diets for a small amount of time (1-2 weeks) and then moving healthy amounts after this. It baffles the mind that a guy with a bs in Nutritional Sciences would pass on myths about carbs being bad after 9pm. Even better is the myth of different diets according to different somatotypes. I am eating 600 CALORIES PER MEAL THREE MEALS A DAY PLUS A 200 CALORIE SNACK WHICH EQUALS 2000 CALORIES PER DAY!!!! I see other people recommend super low calorie diets and the amount seems to be getting lower all the time (a low calorie diet used to be 1500 now people eat 1200 and lower). That 600 struck a nerve in me. I am surprised your trainer only has you eatting 3 meals a day. I thought most trainers advise 6 smaller meals a day.
