Can't Stop Gaining Weight!Hey, I'm 13 and I weigh 170 or so. It's so disgusting, I'm around 5'6" and I weigh so much. Since the beginning of the year I have lost 12 lbs. (starting at 160 or so) and then gained up to 170! I swim three times a week and walk to and from school (about 2K each way), so I think I just eat too much. Any ideas of how I can lose about 20 lbs. as soon as possible (still healthy please). Thank you SO much!

Gwen, no matter how much exercise you do you can't lose weight until you watch your diet. Slowly lower your diet. Basically in most o fthe cases it is the excess food thats gets accumalated in body and make you fat. It also depends upon indiviual metabolisim. Consult a professional nutritionist if not possible than lower your diet and go for food which is low in fat. Fat is a compound which accumalates most because it is hard to burn and gives a very high calorie rate (create excess calories). Thats what i can understand in your case.

Eat good on breakfast, Oatmeal last longer. Don't eat breads because you'll be hungry quicky. But don't get flavored oatmeal, plan real oatmeal. With some fruits like bananas as toppings. Eat good on lunch, but don't eat dinner. If you get too hungry in the night? Eat pickles, and go to bed ;)

I totally disagree, you need to eat small meals throughtout the day. By not eating any thing past lunch but pickles, you are slowing your metabolism DRASTICALLY and you are putting your body into starvation mode so that the next time you eat, it ALL will go to storage because it wonders if you are going to starve it again. That is the worst advice!!!
INSTEAD, by eating 5-6 small meals consisting of 1protein, 1 carbohydrate for each meal. Three of those should also contain vegtables too. By doing this along with being active you should REALLY speed up your metabolism. Also, if possible get into a gym or something to just lift light weights. This also really helps to burn calories even after your workout. Especially a good leg workout, works the best for me!!! The most important thing though is to not starve yourself, you will only gain more weight!! Instead don't allow your body to be hungry for more than a half hour. Anything after that it goes to starvation mode. Believe me this is the way to go, I did it and now I am at 12% body fat. Make sure that you have at least 30carbs and protein per meal. If you cut your diet too much you will not get any success. Good luck GWEN!!
