Title: Not A Diet... Just The Opposite I am young and very thin. I am 5'10'' and 135lbs. I want to exercise more and gain more muscle. What should I eat so I can exercise and gain more muscle at the same time? Name: Raymond Date: Jan. 22nd, 2002 Title: Re: Not A Diet... Just The Opposite PROTEIN!!! When trying to gain weight, try to eat 1.5g/lb of body weight in protein. Lean meats, protein powders/drinks, beans, chicken, and fish are all great sources of protein. With fat, try to stick to olive oil when oil is needed. Salmon contains omega3 fats that are healthy for weight gain. As far as carbs go, stay away from sugar! Eat a lot of long grain rice, sweet potatoes, whole grain bread (no wonderbread) and fruits and veggies. Hopefully this will help.
