Title: How To Reduce Bulky Muscle?

I highly doubt that there's an answer for this..but thought I'd try anyway..

Is there a way to shape bulky muscle into the leaner type? When I work out i just keep getting more bulky muscle, not something I'm really looking for as a woman. If there isn't a way to shape existing muscle, is there a way to prevent it from getting bulkier? I am especially referring to the legs as almost all cardio involves the legs..

    You should try and consult your trainer at the gym on the right exercises to help you reach your goal.

    In general, however, if you want to tone the muscles, use less weight and more reps. For example, you might want to a leg curl set at 10lbs but do 3 sets of 12-15 reps, instead of a higher poundage (like 40lbs) and 8-12 reps.

    Again, key to toning is lower weight and higher reps. The reverse is true if you want to build up on the muscles.

      yeah.. i've actually not been doing any weight training on the legs at all.. because I feel that they are already too muscular.. they could use a little more toning, but I need to lose some weight first in order to do that. Thanks for the advice :)

        As the prior reply says you need to do higher reps with lower weight. The bulky muscle could also be water retention or stored up fat under the muscle, so boost your cardio up to try and drop some body fat
