Title: Hypertention Mom I AM A 34 YR OLD MOM OF TWO WITH HYPERTENTION DUE TO MY PREGNANCIES. MY CARDIOLOGIST SAYS I CAN EXERCISE IF I WANT TO AS LONG AS I TAKE MY MEDICATION. I AM 5'2" and weigh 147. IF YOU CAN RECOMEND SOME EXERCISES, THANKS ALOT. Name: maria Date: Dec. 31st, 2001 Title: Re: Hypertention Mom I was also recently diagnozed with hypertension due to high cholesterol. I changed jobs last May and have been inactive because my new job was far from my previous gym. Now, I got back to the gym three months back but am still on medication to lower my cholesterol to a manageable level. My BP was up to 160/110 but after 3 months of exercise, I'm now back to 120/80. The key is cardio training. I hit the gym a minimum of 3 times a week but if I can I got 5 to 6 days a week. I alternate weight training but focus on my cardio. Use the threadmill, elliptical, stair climber or bicycle. It doesn't matter, as long as you get at least 30 minutes of cardio going. Start slow until you progress in your fitness, then, you should increase intensity. If you can do cardio longer than 30 minutes, better. The trick is to be patient, don't be in a hurry. You'll need time for your body to adjust and for results to show. If you do this for the next three months or longer, you'll lick your hypertension. Good luck!
