weight loss help for 14 year old

I need some advice on how to lose weight relatively quick. Im not asking for a way to lose it all in a week, but i dont believe that i necessarily have to wait a year or more to achieve my goals in a healthy manner. I am 5' 10'' and weight 170 pounds. I've been told that i dont look like i weight that much, and that i may have more muscle mass than fat, but i dont see the same when the shirt comes off. I have a flabby surface and i am looking for a way to lose weight and gain muscle. I own a weight bench and a weight set including dumbbells and a barbell. I've tried to diet in the past, sometimes successfully, losing 10 pounds in a couple weeks, but i quickly gained it back when my parents prepared foods that tasted good but weren't the healthiest choices. I try to eat healthy but there aren't very many healthy alternatives in my home, in fact ive spent a few minutes just looking around my entire house from fridge to pantry and couldnt find anything but a couple cans of vegatables and an apple or two. What i am asking for is a way to lose weight even under these circumstances, often what happens is i may have a successful morning but eventually succumb to the cravings of having a great tasting bowl of chips. Or in other cases i will try to have a small meal but i still want to eat more after i have finished. most of the time i feel very bored, and i can never think of anything fun to do. the only real exercise i may get in a day is some basketball outside for about an hour, but then i may come in and want to eat something, even without the hunger. i have read about people who eat because of boredom, and i may be one of them, but i dont know how to deal with it. I need some assistance in my journey to the world of the thin and healthy, i appreciate any help anyone out their is able to give. thanks

Well im not really an expert about this kind of stuff. But when you go on your diets, you need self control. Every once in a while have a candy bar, the atkins low carb carmal peanut cluster is pretty good it taste exactly like a snickers bar. When you deprive your body of the food you like, it builds up and up and up untill you can control it anymore then you see your mom cooking something you love..you tell yourself no, but you cant help yourself, and you eat the food. So my only advice to you man is to eat healthy but at the same time eat law calorie junk food, in your wal-mart there is a low carb/calorie isle in the food section, in almost every wal-mart there is one, it has a nice little silection of junk food. Good luck to you man and I hope it all works out for you ;P

When I was young (15) I had similar problems I lived with my parents and therefore ate what they cooked. I was a stone overweight for my size. I soon solves this problem. At first I was convinced that doing weights would help me get ripped but I was wrong. I stopped the weights, joined a Rugby team, and ensured I did 1 hour Cardio every day and some crunches. I ate whatever I wanted but still stayed fit and eventually I developed a six pack. So if you want t lose weight, just do regular cardio vascular excercise.
