Preparing For MilitaryOk I'm getting ready for Army Basic, and need to know what I should be doing to prepare myself for that. What can I do at home?

Scout,
Start running, doing push-ups and as many crunches as you can do. No matter how in shape you are, they're going to push you to your limit (muscle failure) it's great though. Take it from me, I enwt through 8 years ago when it was a bit different than it is now. The two main things you need to remember (besides all the good information they're going to be stuffing into your brain) is "There's no I in team" and no matter what-the Drill Sergeants cannot hit you or cuss at you. Enjoy yourself, you'll look back on those 9 weeks very fondly later on in your career! Good luck and great choice.

Steve,
RUnning is sort of the right of passage....if you could run fast you were in the "fast group" which of course made you finish a lot quicker therefore giving you about 10 more minutes to actually shower, get ready, clean your room, make your bed, do your daily chores and get outside before formation. Basically start runnig your butt off...dont' kill yourself though, you don't want to hurt yourself before you even get there. If you have a tred mill nearby increase the elevation to about 2.5-3 and every minute increase the speed .5 Example..4.5-5.0, 50-5.5, 5.5-6.00. GO up to the point where you're sprinting and then lower it 3-4 full numbers (from 8-5) then start again, with every minute incresing it 0.5 As far as pushups and abs...what are you doing right now to train? Train both of those only every other day at the most, you need to give your body time to heal and to build. I would say to start out doing at least 200 pushups and 500 sit-ups. That's where we started once upon a time,....don't worry...it's become much easier through the years...I'm sure you'll do fine. If you saw some of the kids that graduated, you would have no worries whatsoever. But you don't want to be like them, you want to be "high-speed" a term you will become very framiliar with in the near future. Let me know if you want to know more.
