I have been working out for a few weeks now and I wasn't quite sure when the best time to workout is. Can anyone help me?

    This is the kind of question where science can give absolutely truthful answers that are entirely worthless to individuals.

    I have read a lot of articles talking about working out in the evening, for example, because of the benefits that occur while you sleep. But if you work the night shift, the scientific truth isn't worth a plug nickle.

    The best time to workout is actually determined not by science but buy your own life and commitments. For example, if working out in the evenings causes family problems, because you miss out on seeing your children grow up, its a good time scientifically, but a bad time personally.

    Some people are just naturally "morning" people. Others can earn a zillion dollars at their jobs, by working 4pm-12pm, but zero any other hour of the day.

    Well, you probably get the idea.

    The most important issue, after you consider the really important things like family, job, location of the place you work out, your spiritual health, etc., is this:

    What do you like best? That's the best time. Hands down.

    So the researchers can keep spending their zillion bucks on research that sells all these health magazines, but their research will never solve life's little problems, like how to have a happy family, a good career, a connection to your community, and fun.

      Great answer. I agree with what you say: however, science does suggest an optimal time to workout aerobically; in the morning on an empty stomach. The reason? One has just had an 8hr fast, assuming you sleep for eight hours, and there are no extra calories to burn durine exercise.
