Title:
Treadmill Vs Cycle??I need to lose about sixty
pounds, and I have used
both a recumbent exercise
bike and a treadmill. I'm
wondering if my time is
better spent on the
recumbent bike or the
treadmill?? I hear different
opinions all the time. If
anyone has any input I'd
really appreciate it, thanks.

Well when your on a bike your "butt" and upper body is stateunary and is not moving.
When your on a tred mill you and working out allot more becuase your moving oyur arms and swining your uperbody from side to side. Thus your using more of your body and possibly burning more calories.
Hope I helped

Here's the simplest response...
Do what ever you are happier doing and will keep you sticking with it!
How about alternating between the two?
My point is don't get to number crazy. The goal of a long-term weight loss/ fitness program is to make sure you keep doing it. So if you feel like bike, do bike. If you feel like treadmill, do treadmill. Etc...
And because I feel strongly about that, I won't even really answer the specific question. Sorry, but hope you understand! =)

HI Jackie,
I must agree with Steve (as I do with most of his replies).
Do whatever will keep you going. When I first started excercising, I did treadmill most of the time. Eventually I got bored with it. Now I rotate my workout by doing treadmill, bicycle, and step aerobics. Don't forget to do some strength training along the way! You don't want to lose weight, and be left with all flab! Good Luck. =)
