Advice Needed On Bowflex Vs Total Gym 1100 I need advice on a home gym for my small 1 room apartment, freeweights are not an option. Researching on my own, Ive decided probably either the bowflex or total gym 1100 was the way to go. I did call the bowflex 800 number to ask questions like they say I can on thier web site and talked to on of thier sales reps for at the most 3 minutes, just asking him some questions about what the machine could do. After I got my info I said bye and he got all pissed off and rude saying, well now that I wasted all this time with you and answered your questions, are you going to place an order with me now. He then preceeded to try and pressure me into ordering a bowflex right there and then from him, I just hung up on him. This kind of makes me feel bowflex might be a scam company, despite the good things ive heard about the machine. Ive also seen a gym called the Home FX, its hydraulic and looks pretty good for about 300 dollars, although it seems the exercises might be too linear and also it dosent seem like the stabilizer muscles would be helped at all on this. The machine Don Lemmonn is advertising is also a possible option, though just by looks it seems to be very limited on total number of exercises compared to the others and also is also about the same price as a new bowflex with eveything. Other machines ive seen are the weider home gym and the gold's gym, both are inexpensive, but dont seem to have the option of adding much extra weight over body weight resistance. Also there is the nordictrack ultralift, which is now advertising for about 400 dollars new, since they are in buisness again. I would appreciate any objective opinions on any of these machines or others i've missed, also incluse how much the machine weights, how much space it takes up, any pros and cons, ect. Thanks

Ive seen the gold's gym advertsied by the seattle traders at en.seattletraders.com for about 130 dollars. Does anyone know if they are a legitimite company or just another internet scam site? They have no address posted and I dont want to give them a credit card number unless I know they are legit. Also, does anyone know the total weight of the nordictrack ultralift and if its good for strength training? thanks

I have been considering buying a bowflex, but I just finished viewing the promotional tape for the Personal Trainer and bowflex is no longer an option. One section of the tape has a comparison to bowflex. In one camera shot, without any editing the guy on the Personal Trainer performed 19 different exercises compared with 2 with the bowflex. When I called the company to have them answer a few questions I actually spoke with the guy who designed this product. He spent about 20 minutes with me explaining how the machine worked and the various benefits. I thought that was pretty good customer service. I'll let you all know how it is when I get it.
