Title: Total Workout Gym: Good....Bad????

Has anyone ever used the Total Workout Gym as advertised on TV by Christie Brinkley & Chuck Norris? I am thinking about purchasing this machine, however am afraid that it won't deliver the results as advertised. Any advice/knowledge on this would be extremely helpful!!
Thank you in advance for your assistance.t

The infomercial total gym sucks for guys since you cannot add any extra weight to it. Your limited to about 60% of your own body weight as resistance, thats ok for one arm curls and some other exercises, but not really for the bwwwch press and especially not wwwough for the legs. The total gm 1100 is much better, probably on par with bowflex, though you cant add as much resistance to it as bowflex. Basically you can add up to a total of 450 pounds on the total gym 1100 and can use 70% of that for actual resistance. The plus is its alot simpler than the bowflex, less parts to break, and it has a wider range of exercises that can be performed. Problem with both the 1100 and bowflex are the price, both about a grand new. If you want to get something cheap to start out on and see if its something youll use try the total gym 1000, its about 190 dollars and is the same as the 800 dollar infomercial version. Look at the bowflex too, it might be better for some guys, especially if they want to really build up the legs.
