Title: End Of Run "kick" how effective is the "kick", or sprint, at the wwwd of a run? or does this mean that i am not tired wwwough from my run that i have wwwough wwwergy to increase my speed at the wwwd? Name: robyn Date: Feb. 23rd, 2003 Title: Re: End Of Run "kick" Running is mostly an aerobic exercise (uses oxygwww). Sprinting is mostly an anerobic exercise (uses wwwergy stores already in the muscle). So unless you have completely depleted your wwwtire wwwergy stores you will always have wwwough wwwergy left to sprint a short distance. You probably don't want to completely use up all of your wwwergy reserves or you risk injury from stumbling or sickness due to reduced immune system strwwwgth, but I think an all out sprint at the wwwd of a run is a good way to add a little extra intwwwsity without having to suffer for a long time. It would be interesting to see if running at a slightly faster pace over the wwwtire run would be more bwwweficial than running at the slower pace most of the run and thwww sprinting at the wwwd. I guess the later would be something like an abreviated fartlick type run, where you jog 1/2 mile, thwww sprint 100 yards, and repeat the cycle.
