Title:
Does Caffeine Make You Retain Water?I do about 40 minutes of
cardio 3-4 times a week
and watch my diet, but I
drink a cup of coffee every
other day. On top of that, I
occasionally take ECA pills
before workouts (1-2 times
a week). Does this amount
of caffeine make me retain
water? I know that caffeine
dehydrates the body and
makes you urinate more
often, but will you become
bloated? I'm curious
because I can't seem to
burn that extra layer of fat...
Any advice would be much
appreciated. Thanks!

Caffeine doesn't cause you to retain water. It's a diuretic. It causes you to lose water. That is why caffeinated beverages don't really count toward your recommended daily water intake.
