Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt is an Olympic star to say the least. He became the first man in 12 years to break the world record for the 200-metre held by all time favorite athlete Micheal Johnson. Bolt ran a time of 19.30 seconds, to take home the gold. He previously won the 100-metre sprint, therefore giving him 2 gold medals from the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Bolt was ecstatic with the results. He fell onto his back with joy after seeing his record-breaking time, and later was dancing on the track for the fans in the crowd at the Bird’s Nest Stadium.

After two runners being disqualified for stepping out of their lines, Shawn Crawford took second place with 19.96 seconds, and Walter Dix took home the bronze with 19.98 seconds.

No man has won both the 100 and 200 metre run since the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics saw runner Carl Lewis. Not only did Bolt accomplish that, but he can extend his medal collection by going for the gold as part of Jamaica’s running team in the 4x100 relay.

But Bolt seems pretty happy with his winnings thus far. He told CBC Sports that, “I just came out here and just gave it my all, so I’m happy.” His long stride pattern is unlike any at 6 feet 5 inches tall, but he also seems relaxed and confident, and that’s where winning will get him in the end.
